Pinit Kumhom
Profile
Pinit Kumhom received a Ph.D. degree in
Electrical and Computer Engineering from Drexel
University, Philadelphia,
PA, USA.
in 2000. His research interests involve VLSI design
and implementations, DSP algorithms and their implementations, SoC, FPGA applications, design methodology, high-level
synthesis, etc.
Born in a farmer family in Roi-Et,
a province in northeastern part of Thailand,
he became a farmer by birth. Thanks to his dream to be a radio repair man
when he was young, he ventured to Bangkok
to study electrical engineering at King Mongkut's
Institute of Technology Thonburi (KMITT), the KMUTT's former name. Through the ups and downs in Bangkok,
he made it through and received a B.Eng. in Electrical
Engineering, but in the process gave up on his dream of becoming a radio
repair man, and became an instructor in the Department of Electrical
Engineering, KMITT. After a couple of years as instructor, he realized he
needed a higher study and got a scholarship to study in the US.
He grinded it out and finished the study in March 2000. Currently, he is an
assistant professor with the department of Electronics and Telecommunication
Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, KMUTT.
